How To Get From Paradise Pier Hotel To Disneyland
I recently wrote a postal service of how I (Christina) planned out my first-ever trip to Disneyland. Afterward a lot of research, we chose divide stays at multiple Disneyland hotels. Bank check out my experience and thoughts on where we stayed!
As previously mentioned in Part one of my Beginner'due south Trip to Disneyland series, we decided to book 1 night at Disney'south Paradise Pier Hotel, 2 nights at Disney's Thousand Californian Hotel & Spa and ii nights at the Disneyland Hotel.
We ultimately chose the Disney-endemic properties for a few reasons. First, we didn't know if this would exist a in one case in a lifetime trip and wanted to experience the Disney backdrop. Second, we weren't familiar enough with the surface area around the parks to know which Adept Neighbor resorts to choose.
First Impression
My offset impression of Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel was that information technology was very similar in style and theming to a lot of the value resorts at Walt Disney World – just all condensed into one belfry. At that place were a lot of bright colors and the overall theme was very laid back and whimsical.
I nearly felt as if I was pulling up to an Atlantic City hotel, which is the point since the resort is themed after a beach pier.
Check-in
After flying into the Vegas drome late the nighttime before and driving 4 hours that forenoon to go to California, we arrived at our outset hotel: Disney'southward Paradise Pier Hotel.
Upon arriving, we were immediately assisted by Disney bell hops willing to take our baggage onto a cart and guide u.s. to check-in. Cheque-in was a smooth and seamless process. The hotel was clean and the staff were all very friendly.
They gave united states of america plastic key cards which blew me dorsum in time. Afterwards living life with MagicBands at Disney World, going back to a central card took some getting used to.
They likewise explained how to apply the elevators since they are different than what you would normally look to see at a hotel.
In that location was a key pad on the outside of the elevators where you selected your desired floor. Then you lot would be told which elevator to take. No demand for pressing buttons once inside!
This was a bang-up feature because it help to condense trips to the same floors, prevented overcrowding and shortened the wait time to get to where you wanted to go!
Room Upgrade!
When we checked-in, we were told that we were upgraded to a theme park view.
Normally, I don't intendance most what I expect at out the window, simply our view was absolutely stunning and such a wonderful pixie dust moment to start off our commencement trip!
That nighttime we were able to scout Globe of Colour from our window and they even played the music on the TV!
The room was very squeamish! Much improve than the value resort rooms at Walt Disney Earth in terms of quality and having two beds, but on-par with the value-style theming.
The beds were extremely comfortable and we all woke up bright-eyed and bushy tailed at the crack of dawn the next morn since our brains were still on Eastern Standard Fourth dimension.
Puddle Amenities
Because nosotros had arrived in the afternoon, our plan was to have a relaxing day of swimming and hit the parks early on the next morning after sending our bags over to the M Californian.
I have to say I was super underwhelmed past the puddle at Paradise Pier. It wasn't even upwardly to Walt Disney Earth value resort level standards. It was honestly more what I would expect out of a Motel 6 or regular hotel.
The pool was super crowded and there wasn't that much to do. The slide was fun simply nothing special. There was 1 small hot tub, but that also crowded hands.
Dining at the PCH Grill
I was so thankful that I booked a eating house that was directly inside our hotel. Nosotros were all exhausted and just walking downstairs was the perfect commute.
The PCH Grill is located on the first floor of Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. Nosotros visited pre-covid then at that time all meals were buffet-manner. At breakfast, guests could run into Donald and his friends, but dinner was just the buffet.
The food at PCH Grill wasn't fantastic, just it wasn't bad either. Information technology reminded me of a scaled-downward Chef Mickey's. All the food was hot and the buffet had a dainty multifariousness of options to savor (which was all I needed at that point). The desserts were the standout class hands down.
Unfortunately, PCH Grill is one of two restaurants (the other beingness Steakhouse 55) that will be permanently closing. At the time of publication, Disney has non appear hereafter plans for the space.
Check-out
Waking up at 5:00am from the fourth dimension-modify worked out to our advantage. My whole family was broad awake and ready to become, which normally takes a minor miracle and lots of screaming at Walt Disney Earth.
We checked-out early on and had our bags shipped to our next resort, Disney'south Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, just before nosotros walked over to Disneyland park.
Something else I wasn't used to was having to walk to the park. Coming from Disney Earth where you lot need to take transportation nearly everywhere, this threw me off.
Compared to some of the other Expert Neighbor hotels, it was a bit of a walk to get to the parks from Paradise Pier. This is something to consider when choosing your resort, specially if y'all accept a mobility issue.
Final Thoughts
Would I ever stay at Disney'south Paradise Pier Hotel again if I went dorsum to Disneyland? The simple answer is….No. The hotel was incredibly overpriced for the experience. At over $300 per night, yous would expect something more on par with a moderate or palatial-style resort theming/accommodations.
That said, our stay wasn't all bad. We enjoyed the theme park view of California Take a chance and the beds were very comfortable.
While PCH Grill was a fine selection for dinner, I besides wouldn't race dorsum just to swallow here. We experienced a lot of dining locations on our vacation and this wasn't a standout among them.
Too, no one else will be racing back there either so at that place's that.
If y'all are looking to stay at a Disneyland hotel for the park perks associated with an on-site stay, this is still the cheapest option and the more economical option among the three Disney-owned hotels.
Have you ever stayed at Disney'southward Paradise Pier Hotel? What was your experience like? Permit us know in the comments beneath or on Facebook! Exist sure to stay tuned for Part 3 of our Beginner'southward Guide to Disneyland Serial coming before long!
